Better Than New
Automotive Window Tinting in Clinton Township, MI
Why Window Tint Matters More Than You Think
Window tinting is one of the most practical and impactful upgrades you can make to your vehicle. Beyond the sleek, finished look that tinted windows provide, the right tint film significantly reduces the amount of heat, UV radiation, and glare that enters your cabin. Michigan summers can be punishing, and without quality tint, your interior absorbs that heat and UV exposure day after day. Over time, that means faded upholstery, cracked dashboards, and a driving experience that is far less comfortable than it should be. A professionally installed window tint addresses all of that while also giving your vehicle a sharper, more refined appearance.

What Sets Professional Window Tint Apart From DIY
There is no shortage of over-the-counter tint kits available at auto parts stores, but the gap between a DIY install and a professionally applied film is significant. Bubbling, peeling, uneven coverage, and visible seams are all common results of amateur installations. Once the film is applied incorrectly, it can be difficult and costly to remove without damaging the glass or surrounding trim. At 586 Tint Factory, our installers have the training, tools, and experience to apply window tint cleanly and precisely on every vehicle type. Every install is done in our climate-controlled facility, and we stand behind our work with a warranty on every job.
Beyond the installation quality, the films we use are in an entirely different category from what you will find at a retail store. XPEL's Prime film lineup is engineered to deliver measurable performance in heat rejection, UV blocking, and infrared reduction. These are not cosmetic films. They are performance products that make a real difference in how your vehicle feels to drive, how well your interior holds up over time, and how comfortable your passengers are on every trip.
Window Tint Laws in Michigan
Before selecting your tint shade, it is worth understanding the window tint laws that apply to vehicles registered in Michigan. State law requires that the front side windows allow at least 35% of light to pass through. The rear side windows and rear window have no restriction for sedans, meaning you can go as dark as you prefer on those windows. The windshield may only be tinted with a non-reflective strip along the top. Our team is familiar with Michigan tint laws and will always make sure your install is compliant. If you have specific questions about what is legal for your vehicle, do not hesitate to reach out before your appointment, and we will walk you through your options.
Commonly Asked Questions About Window Tinting
How long does window tint last?
With a professional installation using a quality film, automotive window tint will last many years without peeling, bubbling, or fading. The longevity of the film depends on the quality of the product, the quality of the installation, and how the vehicle is maintained. We recommend waiting at least a few days after installation before rolling your windows down to allow the film to fully cure.
We use Xpel Prime window films because it comes with a manufacturers lifetime warranty against peeling, fading, and bubbling.
Will window tint affect my visibility at night?
Darker tint shades can reduce visibility in low-light conditions, which is one reason Michigan law restricts front window tint to 35% or lighter. Our team will always discuss shade options with you honestly so you can make an informed choice that balances the look you want with safe driving visibility. Our window film is engineered for ultra-high clarity, meaning it delivers outstanding heat and IR rejection without compromising your outward sightlines.
Can I wash my car after getting window tint?
We recommend waiting at least a few days before washing your vehicle's interior after a fresh tint installation. This allows the film to fully bond and cure to the glass. Once cured, your tinted windows can be cleaned normally using a soft cloth and a non-ammonia-based cleaner. Ammonia-based products can degrade the film over time and should always be avoided on tinted glass.
Do you tint the windshield?
We offer full windshield tinting as well as windshield strip tinting. Michigan law permits a non-reflective tint strip at the top of the windshield, and we also offer a full windshield option with our Prime XR and Prime XR Plus films. If you are interested in adding an extra layer of defense to your windshield, we also offer windshield protection film, which guards against chips and cracks from road debris.
